Although I was planning on buying a teardrop when I retired, and had been researching and looking, the weekend I bought her was a spur of the moment purchase. I was 250 miles from home getting my son settled into his college apartment at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. It's a beautiful area with water and woods and State Parks all around. With all that nature, I thought there must be an RV place so when I checked into my hotel for the evening, I searched for RV sales and found one just a couple blocks from the hotel! I checked their inventory and there was a T@B in their used lot! I could hardly wait till morning.
It turned out they had just recently taken in my little T@B on a trade and hadn't even cleaned her up or checked her out. She didn't fit in with all of the giant rigs on their lot so they made me a deal I couldn't refuse so I bought her, tho not before having them throw in all my necessaries to get started like a sewer hose, water hose, surge protector and hitch ball. Since they hadn't done their checkout, I had to come back 2 weeks later to pick her up and drive her 250 miles home, never having pulled a trailer in my life.
Frid@ Ro@m, the title of this post, is, at least at this point, her name. Naming your camper is a big thing and with this brand, people try to get the @ in the name. Originally I wanted to name her Dot and to put big black polka dot vinyl decorations on her, having seen a red one like that - so cute! But I never got around to getting that done. I was pulling her recently to an appointment for a check-up at the only approved servicing dealer in Illinois, 2 hours away, thinking about freedom and the open road and how she gave me the freedom to just travel and keep the comforts of home with me. She gives me the freedom to roam. Freedom. I'm Free to Roam so now, so is she, Frida Roam. :)
