Audio book alternative

Audio books are a huge help to me when I'm traveling.  I used to check out audio books on CDs from the library and listen to them in my car. Then cars stopped having CD players!  I don't have unlimited data so streaming is a problem for me.   Just before I left on vacation, the Bookmobile opened up for in person browsing for the first time since the pandemic shut it down.  In with the Audio books on CD, there were new things called Playback Audio.  I didn't know if my car has the female end for an audio cable but I checked out a couple just in case. It turns out my car does not have an audio cable port either.  Plan B.   I hooked a Bluetooth portable speaker to a USB port in my car, then hooked the playback Audio book via an audio cable to the speaker. Yay! Success. This is a great alternative to help the miles go by faster. I 'read' one book on the way out and one on the way back.
